Your visit to Three Pines is already meaningful, but it can be enhanced even further. We invite you to bring a small gift that makes a big impact: a children’s book in either English or French.
Your book will be donated to a special literacy program called “Reading to an Animal”, run by the local non-profit Mains dans la Mains.
What is Reading
to an Animal?
This beautiful initiative is designed for children who have difficulty reading. During the session, the child reads aloud to a trained, calm animal—often a dog—in a peaceful setting.
Why does it work so well?

This safe and accepting atmosphere reduces the child's stress, builds confidence, and fosters small yet powerful moments of success. Over time, it enhances self-esteem, emotional openness, and the child’s relationship with reading.
